I had a craving for Chinese and work near China Bear so I decided to stop in. I am SO happy I did. I ordered Chicken Lo Mein and General Tso's combination. WOW. The food came out steaming hot and tasted delicious. I have been back twice now and will make this my go to quick Chinese spot.

They still have the serving line lunch special which includes a drink. Ofcourse it cost more now its $6.25. I only come here for the lunch special. Food is always hot. This place really needs to update its decor.

I really grade Chinese restaurants into three groups... Really good, really bad, and everything else. This place falls into the everything else. It's not a full service, take the offer at your table kind of place, which is what I was really looking for... Read some of the other reviews on here and thought we'd give it a try. On the disappointing side to be sure. I would much rather have eaten at a Panda Express.

I went here for dinner on the advice of a friend. I had the sesame chicken, but the sauce was so sugar-filled that I could only eat a few bites (the few pieces that were on top and not drowning in the sauce) before giving up. The price was good and the waitress was very friendly, but the amount of sauce in the container and the amount of sugar in the sauce made me sorry I went here.

I previously gave this place 3* but I have to up my rating and here's why....lunch special is daily (including weekends) 11-3 and costs $5.25. You just can't beat it...and the portions are huge! I really love the Singapore mai fun and the general Tso's chicken. My husband likes the wonton soup and the hot and sour. We recently tried the hot and spicy beef which isn't a fav of mine but its still pretty dang scrumptious. Also, they have the best fortune cookies...not sure if it is the brand or if its that they are really fresh? Either way I don't care...dey good! All in all this place has yet to disappoint...so they get extra points in my review :)

This was my first visit to China Bear. My BFF raves about it like it is the best fast food chinese. I ordered a quart of Black Pepper Chicken with a pint of shrimp fried rice and spent over $21. The meal was good---just like your average fast food chinese place and I had enough left over for lunch today (and now I'm bloated). But for $21 I wish I would have dined with full service at my local P. F. Changs.

This is my go to Chinese food stop. Not the biggest, nicest, or best around, but they are consistently good. I have not had a bad choice yet on the menu. Seem to always order the Mei Fun, so that is a favorite.

Got a haircut next door and needed to grab a quick bite. The look of the place almost scared me away! I'm glad I stuck with it and ordered. Food was super hot, very fresh, spicy and tasty. I got kung pao chicken and pork fried rice. Wasn't too adventurous. I will for sure go back and try some more. The owners spend nothing on decor, restaurant has a whiff of disinfectant odor.... Doesn't matter, the food is very good.

I drive past at least 2 other Chinese places to get my food here. Their menu is huge and they'll custom-make anything they can. I frequently order the kung-pao chicken/beef extra spicy, with broccoli and mushrooms instead of the normal vegetables. They're always polite and I never have to wait long. The garlic sauce dishes and steamed dumplings are also favorites.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
